Join Our Team!

We're hiring!

Do you enjoy bringing people together? Are you skilled at communication? Do you believe in our mission? You could be our next Community Outreach Coordinator! This position is year-round and part-time, with growth potential, and is a critical member of our team.

Are you passionate about helping children connect with the natural world and educating kids about growing and enjoying nutritious food? Do you have the flexibility to work seasonally? You could be another critical member of our team as a Garden Educator!

Become a Board Member

Joining the board of a nonprofit is a great way to get involved in the community. We are looking for people who want to play an active role in the growth of our organization. If you would be willing to share your time and skills to increase the educational opportunities for students and community members in the Teton Region, please reach out to learn more. One of our current board members, Will Roth, had this to say about his board experience:

As a Mountain Roots Education board member for the last three years, I've seen and participated in the organization's growth and development. As my term ends, I want to take this opportunity to let others know of the rewarding opportunity that joining this board provides.

In a recent meeting, my co-board member, Erik Lyngso, said "I didn't know I needed this in my life until I did it." I couldn't agree more. There is a role on the Mountain Roots board for anyone who appreciates the role nature plays in our lives, and has a desire to share that with this amazing community.

There is a ton of momentum in this organization, evidenced by a huge expansion in programming and a slew of recent grant awards. Hayes and the board have laid the groundwork for continued success, and I urge you to consider being a part of it!

Since our founding, Mountain Roots Education has been partnering with schools and community partners to accomplish our mission and vision. Our programs are twofold: school gardens, and workshops for sustainable living.

Our Goals

Mountain Roots Education will implement and run a garden program at every school in the Greater Teton Area by 2030. We believe that hands-on garden and farm-based education should be easily accessible for everyone. Deeply rooted in the Mountains is a heritage of sustainable-living practitioners. It is our goal to educate and empower our community through hands-on adult workshops for sustainable living by providing monthly workshops including raising livestock, field dressing, hide-tanning, planting and maintaining healthy garden spaces, saving seeds, preserving the harvest and more.
